🇺🇸 RSVP - Further Thoughts Los Angeles
Design Hotels™ x NeueHouse presents:
Further Thoughts: New Sanctuaries
An evening to reflect on New Sanctuaries — the places both physical and figurative where we find renewal, shelter, communion, and expressions of the sublime. Poets, musicians, entrepreneurs, and artists come together across mediums to convey the creative revival taking place in today’s new sacred spaces.
To explore the topic of New Sanctuaries, the NeueHouse LA Studio will be transformed to invite us to reconsider how, where, and to whom we look for inspiration and connection in the modern era. Acclaimed tech entrepreneur Ping Fu leads a dialogue on the emergence of contemporary sacred spaces, followed by a showcase of artists-as-acolytes, including lyricist Aja Monet, musician Bedouine, sculptor Octavio Torres, and a live DJ set accompanied by violinist Andrei Matorin in a modern sanctuary designed by RoMo.
Further is a laboratory for experiential hospitality created in 2017 by Design Hotels. We travel the globe to stage site-specific, individually curated artistic programs and locally rooted temporal experiences with a positive social and environmental impact, engaging with the most relevant local communities in the arts, design, mindfulness, history and anthropology.
Beginning in Upstate New York, we brought a diverse group of young, talented poets and artists to Troutbeck, a reactivated farmhouse and boutique accommodation in the Hudson River Valley. Next, Further traveled to a dramatic stretch of Sonoma coastline, where Timber Cove was first conceived as a 1960s-era meditation lodge and artist colony by the celebrated architect Richard Clements. We brought a diverse group of talented musicians to today’s Timber Cove, a unique boutique property where the Redwood Forest meets the Pacific Ocean, for a creative itinerary tied to the natural and cultural environment. The two projects will culminate in Further Thoughts: Los Angeles – New Sanctuaries.
Please RSVP by February 25th.
